SMA's monitoring and energy management family combines Sunny Portal powered by ennexOS — the professional cloud platform for visualization, analysis, reporting and remote parameterization of PV systems — with the SMA Data Manager M (EDMM-20), the data logger and system manager at the heart of decentralized commercial plants. The Data Manager M connects up to 50 devices (PV and battery inverters, energy meters, sensors, I/O systems and EV Charger Business charging points) and controls systems up to 2.5 MVA in closed-loop mode or 7.5 MVA in open-loop/monitoring mode.

Connectivity includes 3× Ethernet RJ45, 2× RS485, Wi-Fi commissioning access, Modbus RTU/TCP (Sunspec) plus integrated digital, analog, relay and temperature I/O — no additional hardware required. Sunny Portal powered by ennexOS adds fleet-wide energy monitoring in one account, energy balance visualization, automatic inverter comparison with alerts, preconfigured e-mail reports, satellite-based weather data and grid-compliant power control at the point of interconnection. Cybersecurity is built in with a Trusted Platform Module (TPM) and over-the-air updates; the device carries a 2-year warranty.
