Franklin Electric's SubDrive Solar is a solar pump controller for the company's 4-inch submersible motors, rated 0.75 to 3.0 hp (0.55–2.2 kW). MPPT maximises the solar harvest with 96% drive efficiency at maximum power, and dual DC/AC input switches automatically to a 230 V single-phase generator when solar power is unavailable. The IP55 / NEMA 3 powder-coated steel enclosure is built for outdoor use in harsh environments.

Built-in diagnostics and protection cover surge, short circuit, dry run/underload, overvoltage, reverse polarity, locked pump, dead head, open circuit and controller over-temperature, with soft start to prevent water hammer. An RS-485 data port provides continuous remote telemetry, and contacts accept two level-control switches and a flow-switch input. cULus and C-tick approved; operating range −25 to +50 °C.
