Schneider Electric's Altivar Solar ATV320 is the dedicated solar variant of the ATV320 machine drive for pumps fed by photovoltaic arrays, covering 0.37 to 15 kW (0.5 to 20 HP). Built-in MPPT keeps the pump at the PV array's maximum power point, with DC input ranges of 150–374 V (200/240 V class) and 280–778 V (380/500 V class) in extended mode, and documented dual-supply wiring for switching between the solar array and grid or generator power.
The solar-specific [SUN] menu and application macro simplify commissioning, and the free Altivar Solar Sizer software sizes the PV array and selects the right reference. Pump protection includes dry-run/no-flow detection with torque-curve characterisation, an anti-jam de-clogging sequence, tank-probe management and low-light state handling. Modbus and CANopen are available via RJ45, alongside SoMove PC software and a remote graphic display terminal; transient capability is 150% of nominal current for up to 60 s.
